Old Trafford holds over 75,000 people and boasts its own Mega-Store within the stadium. Groups are let into the Mega-Store in waves as there are more people than the store can hold. Once inside...It's anything and everyhting Manchester United. Wayne Rooney's photograph (Manchester United top socrer) graces the wall as you enter the store and from there you are overwhelmed by the myriad of attire, housewares, and photographs of the wealthiest team in all of sport.
The experience was amazing. Being there in person incredible. The chanting, the cheering, the team support off the charts. American football could take a few lessons from these guys - I've never been to an event quite as intense and loud.
Old Trafford is beautiful and was filled to the brim. Unfortunately, United losr 2-1, but it was an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. Kaylee and I kept looking at each other saying, "W're at Old Trafford watching Manchester United!" My favorite banner was hung on the west end of the stadium - the picture says it all. As the Manchester United announcer called it, Old Trafford is the Theater of Dreams.
It was a fabulous day and we look forward to an afternoon of rest (still trying to catch up with the jet lag) and a day seeing the sites in Manchester tomorrow. Until then, here are a few pictures from our day at Old Trafford.
